Energy saving tips from ConserveEnergy

A leading energy saving website, ConserveEnergy.co.uk, is warning consumers to start planning now to save money on their energy bills.

ConserveEnergy.co.uk has compiled effective and innovative ways to minimise the inflation busting energy price rises.

In the short term ConserveEnergy.co.uk recommends consumers turn off electrical appliances when not using them, switch off light when you leave the room, only boiling as much as water in the kettle as you require, and switching energy supplier to a cheaper tariff.

In the medium term ConserveEnergy.co.uk say turning down the thermostat by just one degree can save around £55 a year, while replacing all old light bulbs with energy efficient ones can save up to £60 over the lifetime of a bulb.

In the long term the energy saving website recommend properly insulating a home, cavity wall insulation can save £110, internal wall insulation £365, external wall insulation £385 and floor insulation can save £50 per year. While double glazing cuts heat loss through windows by 50 per cent and could cut your heating bill by around £140 a year.
